Sabi
Sabi is StepBridge's bridge robot. With Sabi, you can practise at any time, get used to the controls, or simply play a game of bridge without having to wait for other players. Games played with Sabi do not count towards the competition.
Starting a Sabi table
- On the main screen, click Start Sabi / recreational table in the Tables panel.
- A window opens with some options. Adjust the settings if needed and click OK.
- You are now seated South at the table you opened. If you have a partner, they can take the North seat.
- Click Play with Sabi to begin. Sabi fills the remaining seats.
- Choose a convention card and click Start Sabi.
- The game starts automatically. Your bidding box appears when it's your turn.
After each board, you can choose whether to stop or continue playing.
Convention card
When starting a Sabi session, you choose a convention card. Sabi plays according to the card you select. If you're not sure which card to choose, start with Standard American (SAYC).
What's different?
Playing with Sabi is very similar to playing with human opponents, but there are a few differences:
- Playing dummy -- If you play with Sabi as partner and Sabi becomes declarer, you play the hand as dummy.
- Alerting -- At a Sabi table, you don't need to alert; Sabi also alerts for you and shows the meaning according to the chosen system.
- Undoing -- You can undo actions as often as you like.
- Claims -- Sabi accepts every claim, even if it's incorrect.
Apart from these points, StepBridge works the same at a Sabi table as at a regular table.
Board results
Results from Sabi games are only visible during your session. After closing the table, you can no longer view them.
